17th Post

I haven't been on in a while, but, that always means I've read plenty of books for you guys. I left off with "Triangles" by Ellen Hopkins, which I still haven't finished.... But in the middle of that book I read "The Son of Neptune" by Rick Riordan. This one's in Percy's perspective and HE lost HIS memories too, just like Jason did in "The Lost Hero" all he can remember is Annabeth's name. Sweet, yes, but he makes new friends, one named Frank who hasn't been claimed by a god yet, he thinks he's a son of apollo because he's good at archery. Then there's also Hazel who's a daughter of Hades and has the power of riches. I read the Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson. This book is about a girl whose sister died and is now torn between two boys, her sisters boyfriend and this boy at school named Joe who loves music.I read the Heir Trilogy (Warrior Heir, Wizard Heir, Dragon Heir). The first book is about a boy named Jack, who is tall and has Red hair. Yes, I'm being 100% serious,he looks pretty much exactly like me. Who is a warrior. Want to know more about Jack? Read the book. The next is about a boy named Joseph, but they call him Seph, he's a wizard and he's sent to this school where he's mentally tortured by the headmaster Leicester. Then there's the Dragon Heir, the POV is kind of hard to tell in this one because it's between a lot of people. I'd have to say it's mostly a guy named Jason and Madison, who is Seph's Girlfriend. This is actually the first time I've read this series all the way through, because the beginning of the Dragon Heir is so freaking boring, how boring? Well, I started reading it in Eighth grade and got halfway through, I put it down and just picked it up after 2 years. Yeah, it's boring. But it's worth it. I've also read Between Shades of Grey which is about Russia back during the times of Stalin's Rule. It's boring but very good, if that makes sense. Then Finally there's Ashfall by Mike Mullin which is about a boy named Alex whose parents go to visit family and leave him home alone when suddenly the Yellowstone super-volcano goes BOOM and causes an apocalypse. Everything is now covered in ash.... Haha I see what you did there, ashfall and there's ash falling ahaha....haha. No it's not funny, stop laughing. If you want to find out what happens to Alex, read the book, it's really good. Right now I'm reading Brotherband by the same author as The rangers apprentice, I'm like 20 pages in, but I can tell you this, it's about a skandian boy named Hal who doesn't exactly fit in with other skandians. Right, that's all I've read lately, hopefully you enjoyed it. PEACE.

16th Post

Holy Crap, I have read books, and it is awesome. I have read Subject 7 by James Moore. It's about 5 kids who are secretly sleeper agents who have literally different people living inside of them. They come out by a code word and their physical appearance changes and personality. I thought it was very good, but the ending... Oh, the ending.... Lets not talk about that shall we? I've read 13 reasons why.... Holy crap that book is awesome, I think it should be a must-read for teenagers, it's thirteen reasons why this girl killed herself... It was so freaking depressing but I came out of it like "Holy CRAP! That was AMAZING!" I read World War Z by Max Brooks... Another good book, it's recordings of survivors from the zombie war. I personally think it would've been more entertaining in audiobook format because I can tell when the speaker changes, that kinda confused me in the book, other than that it was really, really good. I read Impulse by Ellen Hopkins, another very good book (obviously, it's by ellen hopkins, it's amazing) Impulse is about 3 kids who are in a mental institute a girl because she almost killed herself by cutting herself, a boy tried to kill himself by shooting himself in the chest, and another tried to kill himself with pills, the reasons why? Hm, read the book. Lastly, I read Don't sweat the Small stuff for Teens by Richard Carlson, I was told to read this by my girlfriend. It's mainly just things in adolescence that you shouldn't freak out about. I'm in the process of reading Triangles by Ellen Hopkins which is like a chick flick in a book form haha but I think it's really good. Anyway, that's the books I've read lately. PEACE.

15th Update

Alright, now I know you're all going to be disappointed in me, but I haven't read anything this summer. SO, what I decided to do was make a sort of list of books to read in the coming school year. Where to start..... OH! YES! Triangles by Ellen Hopkins (I'm actually reading that now, it's AWESOME) I'm not disclosing anything about Triangles because it doesn't come out till...... October I believe.Next, there's Forever by Maggie Steifvater(?) which is the last book in the Shiver and Linger books by her, I'm really looking forward to it because I love this series haha. Next there is Where's my Wand by Eric Poole. I haven't read it yet, my dad has and he thinks I will like it. It's kind of Sedaris-y he told me(meaning the writing style was similar to that of David Sedaris, who is another author I like. (Author of Naked, When engulfed in flames, Holidays on Ice, and Me Talk Pretty One Day. He's wrote more, but those are his more popular titles). WAIT, I lied I HAVE been reading a book that my girlfriend gave to me. Don't Sweat the Small stuff (For teens) by Richard Carlson. It's basically this book about how to deal with "the small stuff" for adolescents like ME. It is SUCH a good book. She told me to only read the first chapter and I'm currently on Chapter 39. I also plan on reading The Blade of Shattered Hope by James Dashner. It's the third book in the 13th Reality Series. Lastly, I plan on reading The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy(Really?) Nelson. It's about this girl whose sister dies and then finds herself caught between two boys. Alright, I will leave it at that then guys, sorry I haven't read anything but next time, there'll be a few books I have read.

14th Update

Wow I have been DEPRIVING you people of my blog! I'm so sorry! But fear not, I have not forgotten you. I've read five books in my absence . I have read "Unearthly" by Cynthia Hand. The book takes place in southern California and southeast Idaho near the teton mountains. Oddly enough, this is where the author lives. The basics of the book is the main character is part angel and her powers are coming to her very slowly. She has these visions of a boy standing in the middle of a forest fire. Because of these visions she has to move to idaho where she meets a boy that screws up the whole idea of a GOOD plot. I have read "Perfect" by Ellen Hopkins. I'm not saying anything about this book other than my mom is awesome and got it signed for me. The book doesn't come out till September. Yes, be jealous you don't have a mom as cool as me. I have read 'Middle school: The worst years of your life" by James Patterson. I don't know if the book is out or not but I'll tell you my opinion on it: It was funny but the story is dumb. I've read "The forest of Hands and Teeth" by Carrie Ryan, it was a zombie book so I automatically thought it was good. Finally, I've read "Dash & Lily's Book of Dares" by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. I really like this book, the story as good, the characters were good, just the whole thing was good. Those were the books I've read since last time, PEACE.

13th Post

Alright. I have been FLYING through books lately. I have a lot to talk about, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Since the last update I've read..... About 5 books. I read "Dust City" by Robert Paul Weston, "SoulStice" by Simon Holt, "Hush Hush" by Becca Fitzpatrick, "13th Reality: The Hunt for Dark Infinity" by James Dashner and To kill a mockingbird. I thought Dust City was kinda dumb, I couldn't really take it seriously, because the main character was a wolf (no qualms on that) but his mom died from pixie dust..... Yeah..... Pixie dust..... I honestly don't remember much of this book because I didn't like it all that much. Next is SoulStice which I finished today, it's the book that comes after "The DeVouring" This book was absolutely amazing. The ending made me seriously tweak out. I went up to my mom AND the girl that recommended it to me and yelled: "WHERE'S FEARSCAPE?! I NEED FEARSCAPE NOW!!!!!" according to my mom the book isn't out yet, even though the girl that recommended it to me has it, the freakin school library has it (and believe me, they NEVER have any good books) and the inside cover of the book says it came out fall of last year. I'm gonna say this is operator error on my moms part. The next book is Hush Hush, it's an amazing book it really is. I mean, yeah, it's a love story pretty much, but it's developed. Unlike certain popular books *cough cough TWILIGHT.*  The Hunt for Dark Infinity is the second book in the 13th Reality Series and I was actually ashamed of myself because it took me 3 days to read. It usually takes me not even a day to read most books and this took me three? WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME?! Now.... To Kill a Mockingbird..... I actually didn't like this book. I'm pretty sure if I A: wasn't forced to read it and B: was like maybe 2-3 years older I would've liked it a lot more than I did. I just kinda thought it was boring. Oh well. I'm sorry for not sharing anything about the actual books but seriously people, if you want to know what happens in a book, then read the friggin thing. Yes, I'll tell you if I like a book, no, I won't tell you what happens in it. That's your job as readers. That's all for this update. PEACE!

12th Update

Considering I didn't write much on my last blog, I thought I'd be nice (or my mom forced me, whichever choice you like best) and write another blog. I've finished 2 books in one day (okay, I know that sounds like a feat but one book I had already started and was like 10 pages away from finishing it haha) The 2 books I read were "The Throne of Fire" by Rick Riordan, if you haven't heard of him get your head out from under the rock it's been underneath for the past 5 years and pick up another title of his called "The Lightning Thief". ANYWAY, this book is the second in the "Kane Chronicles" which follows the adventures of Carter and Sadie Kane (hence KANE Chronicles) this book involves the Egyptian gods and how they're still "alive" (that's a common theme in his books) the mane villain of the series is Apophis and he's a giant snake. I don't know about you, but I'd rather not have a giant evil snake take over the world. The other book I read is called the DeVouring by Simon Holt, it was recommended to me by a friend and I'm glad she recommended it haha. This book is so awesome, it's about these monsters that take over human bodies and live out their lives and send the REAL souls away to these places called "Fearscapes" where they basically spend all eternity with their biggest fears. These monsters are called "Vours" (it's why the V in "The DeVouring" is capitalized) it was a gripping story and had me reading it in the middle of some of my classes (mainly science because i finished it next hour ha ha). So for anyone who hasn't read the DeVouring or the Kane Chronicles; READ THEM BECAUSE I COMMAND IT! PEACE!

11th post

Okay, I know, I haven't posted in a while but I've been on break (that means I RELAXED and played video games haha) But that doesn't mean I haven't read anything (ok, only 2 books, i know, I'm slipping) I've read... Middle World by J&P Voelkel which is about a kid (not unlike me) whose parents don't pay much attention to him because they're out exploring a lot (No, I'm not saying that my parents neglect me) and he ends up with his uncle (not the nicest guy ever) then...... Read the friggin book and you'll see what happens mkay? The next book I've read is Daniel X: Demons and Druids by James Patterson (the guy basically craps out books) and you all should know his writing; it's very easy and quick even though the books are 200+ pages. Again, if you want to know what happens IN the books just READ them, don't rely on ME to tell you what happens in the books because I'm like my mom in that irritating way "So mom what's your book about?" "I dunno, read it". Also the Young Adult Book Club meets this thursday at 6 PM (I won't be there unfortunately because I'm going to see Lewis Black) but the book is called "The Dust City". That's all for this update people. PEACE!

10th Update

Whoa, life's been....  okay I'll say it, friggin awful since I last wrote. I'm not going to share why. It just does. ANYWAY. I HAVE read some books so I'm not writing this for a therapy session, I have a REAL counselor for that. I have read "Teen Angst? Nahhh......." by Ned Vizzini, "Plague" by Michael Grant, and "City of Fallen Angels" by Cassandra Clare. Teen Angst is about basically the authors high school/middle school  years, I thought it was a highly entertaining book. Plague is the fourth book in the GONE series which is a very god series. It's kind of like lord of the flies if it was a community instead of an island, and there were supernatural powers involved. City of Fallen Angels is the latest book in the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare and I think it's the best book so far. I really don't wanna talk about it/spoil it for anyone out there, so I'll leave it at that. PEACE.

9th Update

Whoa, sorry guys, i kinda deprived you of my amazing blog for a while there I'm sorry... BUT! To make up for it I read 3 and 1/2 books over the hiatus. I started with "The Scorch Trials" by James Dashner whom also wrote "The Thirteenth Reality" Series and in that bookThey meet this boy named Aris who is part of another camp of all girls and he was the lonely boy (poor guy haha) just like Teresa was the lonely girl in the other camp (poor girl).  Thomas also gets betrayed by Teresa and throughout the book he's trying to look for her while also trying to finish the trials before this disease called "The Flare" gets hold of him and the rest of the gladers. The flare is a disease that apparently turns people into things called "Cranks" which are basically psychotic zombies......man if there was a game where you could kill them that would be awesome.... OH WAIT THERE IS!!!! (It's not related to cranks or anything like that haha it's a game called dead space) I finished Glass by Ellen Hopkins and..... Kristina/Bree or whatever your name is, I don't care anymore. You keep doing the same stupid things over and over again and I'm SICK OF IT! Be glad that that the last book, "Fallout" isn't about you otherwise I'd stay away from it. I also read "If I Stay" by Gayle Foreman and it was really good it's about a girl who was run over by a truck along with her family and the book is from her point of view as a spirit which i think is really interesting, it's also a lot of flashbacks of her, her cello, her family, her boyfriend. I read it for my book club (meets this thursday at appleblossom books). Now the "1/2" stands for the book I'm currently reading which is "Fire World" by Chris D'Lacey. Now you may be wondering "Hey... Hey wait a minute... How do you have this book? It doesn't come out till may." I have it because my mom is kinda awesome and got me the A.R.C. of it (Advance Reader Copy) and I swear to god, that book is one of the most confusing books I've ever read. It's takes place in a different place, and time, and the characters are different, there's david but he's a child/teenager in this book so...... Idk. That's all I'll spoil for that book because y'know..... It's not out yet. So that's all for now. PEACE.

8th Update

Whoa, I haven't posted in like.....2 weeks! I'm terribly sorry, I haven't read much lately...... I finished Zombies vs. Unicorns by Holly Black Which was absolutely hilarious I recommend it if you haven't read it yet. I am in the middle of reading "Glass" by Ellen Hopkins (I love her books if you couldn't tell) it's the sequel to "Crank" This book is about Kristina/Bree's (whatever you prefer) constant battle with "The Monster" but she has a kid now so her strong addiction isn't helping whatsoever. Her mom actually kicks her out of the house so she lives with her new boyfriend Trey who is away at school so she's left with his cousin Brad. She ends up cheating on Trey with his cousin while he's out. That's about as far as I am for being two days in. That's all for now. PEACE.

7th Update

Lets see...... what books have i read lately........OH one was "We are not Eaten by Yaks" i don't remember the author but if you can find a book with the same title by more than one author, then.....you get a prize (note, prize doesn't exist) but anyway, enough of rambling, ill talk about the book. This book is about twins that accidentally go on an adventure to save their father and prove there is a shangri-la AND get cable TV, sounds good right? Thought so. Okay, so yeah, I don't remember much of this book, I've been reading Zombies vs. Unicorns (yes you read that right, ZOMBIES vs UNICORNS) I'm reading it for book club which I recommend you ALL go to by the way because it's 'fun and random. Zombies vs Unicorns is a bunch of short stories all written by different authors, the major ones are Justine Larbalestier, Holly Black, Diana Peterfreund, and Cassandra Clare Diana wrote "Rampant" a book about killer unicorns and Cassandra wrote the Mortal Instruments series along with the Infernal Devices series. So I recommend this book to anyone that has a sense of humor. So there's my blog update for the week, hope you all enjoyed it. PEACE!

6th Update

I GOT ANGEL!!!! I FINISHED IT IN, LIKE 3 HOURS!!!!! NOW THE EVIL PEOPLE WONT LET ME READ THE LAST BOOK FOR LITERALLY ANOTHER YEAR!!!! WHAT KIND OF CRAP IS THAT?!?!?!?!?! Ok so anyway if you couldn't tell, I kind of liked Angel (The Book) Not to say I don't like th character, it's just that, well, she's evil ok? I believe in "FANG" She held Max at gunpoint because she wanted to lead the flock so badly, she kind of lost points there for me, i dunno about you other readers. ANYWAY, I'm not spoiling any of angel because it's a fairly new book. I got it at book club. Which all of you cool people should join, by the way. It meets every other thursday, it just met this thursday the 24th, so it's going to meet next on March 10th(?) and the book that we are discussing is Zombies vs. Unicorns by Justine Larbalestier and Holly Black. I haven't read it yet but the title in itself is awesome. So, theres my update, hope you all enjoyed it.

5th Update

The reading has been going awesome lately, I have read 2 1/2 books this week, I read Identical, and Crank, both by Ellen Hopkins, I loved them, Hopkins is probably my second favorite author (the first being J.K. Rowling obviously). But in Identical, there are two twins who are both being molested by there father who is a massive alcoholic, and who cheats on his wife with the neighbor girl. Lovely, isn't it? The next book, Crank, is about a girl named Kristina (later Bree) who gets hooked on Crank, or the monster, as it is repetitively called in the book. The 1/2 part is Maze Runner, by James Dashner, it's the next book for the young adult book club at appleblossom books (AKA the coolest book store ever). In Maze Runner, it's about a boy named Thomas who arrives in this area called the Glade, and it's an area ruled basically by boys until the day after Thomas arrives, then there's a girl that appears bearing a message "She is the last one" probably meaning that this girl is the last person that is getting sent to them. These were the books I've been reading this week, and I think you people should definitely check them out.

4th Update

WHOA! Haven't updated since I got done with Final Exams and It's February now, sorry I didn't update last week I got caught up in the real world, and if you would've told me to write this either sunday morning or saturday night then i probably would've went off on you because well, I'm single now, I haven't been as depressed as I thought I was going to be but oh well. Life goes on, right? ANYWAY, enough of my life, let's talk about books, I finished City of Ashes as well. That book was equally good if not better than City of Bones, I REALLY want to read City of Glass but no, mom is making me read "The Umbrella man" Oh please, that book is BORING, i'm reading it to finish it, I'm going insane because I can't read it (that among other reasons)
Okay, now, on to questions about Ashes, how is it that Simon, who is a vampire, can stand out in the sun without A: Burning up, or B: Sparkling like an idiot? Is it because Jace gave him his blood to keep him alive? I'm guessing that's it but I'm not entirely sure, and I would like to know more about Maia, all I know is that she's a werewolf that probably has a crush on Simon. Simon is still my favorite character and the sexual tension between  Jace and Clary still makes me throw up in my mouth.

3rd Post

Right, I was gonna do this yesterday, but I fell asleep before I could, sorry but to make up for it I finished the City of Bones. AWESOME book by the way, but really? Incest? what are we? *Insert Racist comment here* but other than that I thought it was REALLY good, I started reading The City of Ashes and what's up with Simon?? He's acting weird, like, it said when they were watching Dracula that he was fighting urges, and was feeling nauseous, whats the deal with that? Is he like a vampire or something? Jace is still a prick like always, picking fights with wolves because he's an angst-ridden teen, but it doesn't help that his adoptive mom told him to get out. Yep, this is the end of the post because I have nothing else to say. Bye-Bye

2nd Update

2nd post, fun fun, now i haven't finished either of the books I talked about before but I read this one book by John Steward called EARTH. It's absolutely hilarious, if there is anyone out there that likes John Steward and his show: The Daily Show, I would definitely recommend it. Now, I have gotten farther in The City of Bones, I'm up to the part where....(digs through backpack to find book) they are at Magnus Bane's party and Clary figures out that her mom wanted memory blocked. If I were Clary I would be a teeny bit P.Oed at my mom. This blog is kinda late, I know but A: There's finals this week, and B: I feel really really sick today, like my stomach hurts but i don't feel fever-y it's just an incredible pain in my gut. There's my second post, I know it was more about my life at the moment but I'll get to the books soon.

First entry

Okay, hey, this is my first post on this blog, I'm obviously writing about books. Right now, I'm reading Eon: Dragoneye reborn by Alison Goodman and City of Bones by Cassandra Clare, they're both awesome books, I'm not done with either of them, I'm about 100 pages into each and they rock. So, there you go, this is my blog, I know this is probably uninteresting because I haven't said anything about the books but I'm going to save that for when I finish the books.
